Strömstads Historieförening

The home district of this society is Strömstad. A little city beatufully situated on the west coast of Sweden, only 30km south of the norwegian border and 170km north of Guthenburg.

As a boarder city is Strömstad and it´s neigbourhood full of history, so therefore it´s naturally that Strömstad has a historical society. It´s formed in 1996 and there are many members.
Many of our members have some knowledge of our local history, of the antiquity and of the middle ages. This makes our meetings very nice, when we have our discussions.

Our aim is to promote the intrests of the members. We do this through lectures, study tours and study circles.
A very important purpose to knowledge is to have contacts with other person outside our geographical area.

Our society want to get more new members, also a twin society anywhere in Sweden, in northen or i europe, just to widen and make the historical intrest deeper.
