Strömstads Historieförening

The home district of this society is Strömstad. A little city beautifully situated on the West coast of Sweden, only 30 km south of the Norwegian boarder and 170 km north of Gothenburg.

As a boarder city is Strömstad and its neighbourhood full of history, so therefore it's naturally that Strömstad has a historical society. It's formed in 1996 and there are many members.
Many of our members have some knowledge of our local history, of the antiquity and of the Middle Ages. This makes our meetings very nice, when we have our discussions.

Our aim is to promote the interests of the members. We do this through lectures, study tours and study circles.
A very important purpose to knowledge is to have contacts with other persons outside our geographical area.

Our society wants to get more new members, also a twin society anywhere in Sweden, in Northern or in Europe, just to widen and make the historical interest deeper
